The Raven

Town blog, origin concept - I like it.  I hope I'm not being out of line here - its not even October yet and I'm feeling completely in the season and wanted to share it.  Summer is officially over and Halloween is only four weeks away.  Halloween is far and away my favorite holiday.  In the summer you do stuf all day then meetup and talk about it.  The winter is different.  In the winter time you really need a reason to go out of the house because it's cold outside.  Al your stories in the Halloween party are hobbies of the indoor verity.  Everyone in town is burning incense, meditating, and reading the Karma Sutra.  So in the name of Halloween and long hours spent indoors here's my offering to the town blogclick here to read more of this....

Liquidity Trap Result Of Cash Only Society

I'm no economist, but I figured this ordeal in planning isn't helicopter money like the 150 billion stimulus package. Its a takeover trap. Another thing is I've never had a mortgage, or even a car payment. I did have some student loans that I defaulted on and eventually paid off. Back in those days you took loans directly from the govenrnment and you couldn't declare bankruptcy or get out of them. I also guess I made a mistake on my taxes once while wating tables. I wasn't much of a bookkeeper, but I know that for a 900 dollar debt to the government, they confiscated my tax refund, put a lien on my car, and threatened wage garnishment. The credit companies just phoned and talked about lawsuits. I can't imagine owing 250k to the government and being homeless on top o...click here to read more of this....

Hingham's Combat Zone

One antique selectman, the fave of many local snobs, has really outdone himself.  He has designated North Street as the new Combat Zone, a place for well-heeled drunks to congregate while discussing nanny-boffing and watching their wives wash down their Percosets with imported beer.  The selectman in question, Hingham's Fairy Godmother, has spearheaded many of Hingham's post-Greenbush disasters, such as the "beautification of Hingham Square".  He betrays his age in bad '50's design, i.e. the Quincy Shipyard-style sidewalks of cement and new brick. ( And the phallic granite marker stuck strangely out by the curb. Marking what, exactly?)  I guess this town is values its historic atmosphere so much that we need to dot the town committees with the Ancients. This is a town...click here to read more of this....

Waite Right Here

Today I went to work surprisingly on time for how tired my eyes were. I got to work where I met my boss who had just arrived on his mountain bike. After bumping into Chris Hoy, the Great British Olympian at a party, his enthusiasm for cycling was reawoken. Work went fairly well throughout the day. I managed to meet an old school friend for lunch who despite being in hedge funds, he didn't grasp the two for one offer whereby we split the cost of one meal and got two. The burger was huge. He handed me a VHS of himself bungee jumping so I could make a DVD of it. True story. Whilst I type this I'm also watching Man of the Year on DVD. Which is nice. Why did Robin Williams try and decieve the USA by pretending to be called Tom Dobbs and run for president? So I stayed late in the office whi...click here to read more of this....

video post Hurricane Ike Touches Bloomington

Today started out sunny and nice but by 2pm hurricane Ike was passing through.  Heard at least three trees fall down on of them in the neighbors yard.  Here's a short video from the back yard this afternoon...click here to read more of this....
